Bilimungwe Camp    (6 Photos)

Bilimungwe is located 50m from the Luangwa River in large ebony groves.  Accommodation is offered in 4 safari chalets, all of which have double or king-sized beds.  Rustic Bilimungwe is the furthest south of all South Luangwa's bushcamps, ensuring guest experience a truly solitary encounter with the area's wildlife away from passing vehicles and visitors.  Set on the edge of a small open plain, the camp is home to countless wildlife.  The camps are at least an hour's drive from any other accommodation in the park, ensuring our guests enjoy an unspoilt and wild experience.  Bilimungwe is ideal for guests seeking a unique and remote safari experience.

Chichele Presidential Lodge used to be the private presidential retreat, and it is located on the most breathtaking sites in the entire South Luangwa National Park. There are only 10 elegant Victorian-style Lodges, each offering a private panoramic view. Activities include open 4x4 safari drives plus night drives plus bush walks with a professional Guide and an armed National Parks Scout.

Chikoko Walking Trails is situated in South Luangwa.  Chikoko offers accommodation for a maximum of 6 people.  Chikoko trails are only accessible on foot and offer a unique bush experience.  These are ideal for those that are keen to get away from the restrictions and inactivity of game drives.  The experience of being on foot in these isolated and natural surroundings cannot be beaten.

Tucked away in the heart of an ebony grove, Chindeni offers a shady oasis in the south of the national park.  The tentd camp consists of four spacious and well equipped chalets, each offering stunning views of the Chayumba Lagoon, a colourful patchwork below the breathtaking backdrop of the Nchindene Hills.  Chindene's spacious decked area provides the perfect viewing point for some of the continents most breathtaking sunrises as the sun creeps up over the distant hills to illuminate the lagoon.

Kafunta River Lodge is set in the riverside forest on the banks of the Luangwa River overlooking the South Luangwa National Park; the accommodation in 8 chalets and 2 luxury suites is of the highest standard in the valley.  The Lodge offers daily game drives, night drives or walking Safaris into the National Park.

Kakuli Bush Camp is situated in the Luangwa Valley.  This beautiful camp has five traditional walk in safari tents made from natural materials.  Each of the safari tents is on an elevated stretch of riverbank overlooking a wide grazing lawn that follows the Luangwa River until it meets the confluence of the Luwi and Luangwa rivers.  The views from this camp are spectacular.

 Kalamu Lagoon Camp is situated in the Luamfwa Concession in the southern sector of the South Luangwa National Park. Accommodation consists of 8 safari-style tents, each en-suite with both an indoor and outdoor shower. The camp’s dining and bar area are under a canopy of giant ebony trees overlooking a beautiful permanent lagoon just off the South Luangwa River. A pool and viewing deck area located to the side of the camp offer spectacular views of the lagoon. South Luangwa is renowned as the best walking destination in Africa and guests have the choice to explore the Luangwa riverine vegetation and adjacent dambos on guided walks. Other activities include day and night game drives.

Kapani Safari Lodge is a privately owned camp situated on the banks of a large lagoon beside the Luangwa River.  This luxurious camp has 8 safari suites & 2 Lagoon houses, which accommodates for 20 guests.  It's a perfect destination for Honeymooners.  There is plenty of space for guests to relax between game drives and watch the many hippos and crocodiles in the Lagoon.

Kuyenda is the northmost of the camps and lies nestled on the banks of the Manzi River.  Accommodation is simple, traditional and rustic.  Four thatched rondavels sleep a total of 8 guests.  The camp is at least an hour's drive from any other accommodation in the park, ensuring our guests enjoy an unspoilt and wild experience without interruption from visitors to the area.  Kuyenda is ideal for guests seeking a unique and remote safari experience, whether by foot or from a vehicle.

Luwi Bush Camp is situated in the Luangwa Valley.  Luwi camp consists of 4 thatched bamboo chalets set in a beautifully shady grove of trees on the banks of the Luwi sand river.    The camp is simple yet extremely comfortable.  The Luwi area is famous for it's lions and the thrill of tracking them on foot is an experience not to be missed.

Mchenja Bush Camp is set beneath a magnificent grove of these trees on the bank of the Luangwa commanding views up and down the river.  The camp comprises five stylishly designed tents each under its own thatched roof and with a deck in front overlooking the Luangwa river.

Mfuwe Lodge is situated inside South Luangwa National Park.  The safari lodge is sandwiched between 2 lagoons, which provide the opportunity for the large amounts of game to be viewed from each safari chalets private decking.  Mfuwe lodge has 18 well-appointed safari chalets.

Mwaleshi Camp is located in the very remote North Luangwa National.  Found on a scenic bend of the Mwaleshi River, the camp thrives on its reputation as being a truly special and remarkable place, unlike any other.  There are few roads here so most activities are done on foot.  Despite being so far away from civilisation you still have all the necessities to make life comfortable yet refreshingly simple. Accommodation is available in chalets.  Please note walking safaris are only suitable for children aged 12 and over.

Mwamba Camp is a lovely small and intimate luxury safari camp in the wildlife rich area of South Luangwa game reserve.  The 3 en-suite chalets have huge skylights, so you can enjoy the twinkling stars from your bed. Apart from elephant, buffalo, lions and many other wildlife animals, you will find a strong herd of Cookson Wildebeeste in the Mwamba River area. Due to the remoteness and wonderful wildlife experience, it is recommended you spend 6 nights at least, in this area. (SADAC residents get a discount) (Shen)

Nkwali Camp is on a private island, overlooking the South Luangwa National Park.  There is variety of accommodation, sleeping 16 in total.  Also at Nkwali Camp is Robin's House, a luxury house with a private guide, hostess and chef and Nkwali cottage.  Chalets accommodates for families and there is no age limit for Robin's House.  From the deck the sunsets are quite spectacular.  The game in this area is excellent.

Nsefu Camp is situated in the South Luangwa National Park.  Accommodation is available in rondavels with understated elegance and can accommodate for 12 guests.  Each room has a small deck overlooking exceptional views.  The gameviewing in this area is probably the best in the country and is known for excellent leopard viewing.  (RP)

Nsolo Bush Camp is situated in the Luangwa Valley.  Nsolo has 4 spacious open sided thatched chalets built on raised wooden decks.  Each chalet is set under shade of large evergreen trees, overlooking the surrounding bush.  A refuge where guests can study the camps collection of books or view a variety of game at the waterhole.

Tafika Camp is situated adjacent to the Nsefu sector of South Luangwa National Park.  The camp is remote, ideal for those who really want to get away from it all.  There are 5 spacious chalets that can accommodate a maximum of 10 guests.  These are built with local materials.  Activities include game drives, walking safaris, visits to local village etc.

Established in 1992 by Herman Miles, Wildlife Camp is home to Herman, Patsy and their 3 children.  The camp operates under the auspices of the Wildlife and Environmental Conservation society of Zambia and proudly donates 60% of all the accommodation and camping fees to the society for the benefit of conservation and local community projects. We offer a range of accommodation and game activities.
