Accommodation | Zambia | Luangwa River Lodge

Luangwa River Lodge.  The Luangwa Valley, which marks the end of the Great Rift Valley, is one of the last unspoilt wilderness areas and possibly the finest sanctuary in Africa.  It covers an area of over 9000 sq km through which the meandering Luangwa River runs.  The ox bow lagoons, Miombo woodland and plains of the Valley host huge concentrations of game including the Big 5 and other wildlife species.

Luangwa River Lodge specialises in both driving and walking photographic safaris (with an armed escort scout and guide) to maximise your bush experience at your own pace, with safety and pleasure being at the forefront of any activity conducted.  Specialised experiences include a trip to where Livingstone crossed the Luangwa in 1866, private birding outings with a world-renowned specialist; Emerald season river safaris, bush dinners and picnics. The River Safari Lodge rests under ancient groves ebony trees on the banks of the majestic Luangwa River.  The open plan lounge, dining area and revitalising pool afford excellent game viewing opportunities and delicious dining under an endless canopy of African stars

The Lodge's gentle but exquisite  enfuses vibrant earth tones and raw materials such as palm stalks, indigenous timber, thatch and red earthern plaster, to create a strikingly elegant yet warm and tactile atmosphere that rejects the rigidity of modern life making way for the natural flow of Africa's endless wide open spaces.  Stay for 6 nights, and pay for 5 nights only!!
