Accommodation | Zambia | Mukambi Lodge
At Mukambi Safari Lodge will offer you both the Real Africa and the comfortable chair. Mukambi Safari Lodge is open all year around (also for saloon cars) and is easily accessible from Lusaka. Your journey to our lodge will take only 3 to 4 hours on a brand new tarmac road. After 200km you will already enter Kafue National Park, the biggest National Park of Africa. And Real Africa it is!. 80km into the park you will reach Mukambi Safari Lodge, comfortably located on the banks of the mighty Kafue river. From one of our three viewing decks you will enjoy the river and you might even spot your first elephant, hippo or puku with an ice-cold drink in your hand. And with the nearest settlement 100km away, Mukambi Safari Lodge offers you perfect relaxation. No cell phones here!Mukambi Safari Lodge offers you three types of accomodation. First of all we offer luxury chalets with en-suite bathrooms. Of course hot water and 24hr electricity is provided. For the more adventurous we offer our furnished safari tents where you will find hot water showers in the communal ablution block. And for the do-it-yourself travellers we have got a campsite with showers and thatch structures to pitch up your safari tent. Although almost at a 300km distance from Lusaka, our meal plan can easily compete with the best in Zambias capital. When you return from your game drive a good english breakfast will be waiting for you. Your mid-day appetite will be dealt with by our extensive lunch buffet but our dinners will be the most surprising. Ever enjoyed fresh pumpkin soup, Kafue bream and profiterolles in the bush? And let us assure you, the bream comes from the same river which is your view while having dinner. Kafue National Park will surprise you with its diversity of wildlife. All predators are to be found and the number of different antelope species are yet to be surpassed. Birders will find time too short with almost 500 bird species present in the park. Mukambi Safari Lodge offers game drives, night drives, boat cruises, sunset cruises and walking safaris to satisify your camera. And the silver barbels, pikes, Kafue bream and mudsuckers are waiting for those who like to fish. (During the peak season, the 4x4 vehicles are position inside the park, across the river, for the game drives.)
