Accommodation | Zambia | Old Mondoro

Old Mondoro is a rustic but beautiful, small bush camp in a wonderful location that complements any visit to Chiawa or Sausage Tree Camps.  Takes a step back from the sophistication of many safari camps and focuses instead of providing guests with more down to earth though no less rewarding safari experience.  Situated far inside the Park in lovely walking country with great game viewing, Old Mondoro is a great spot for elephants, leopards and seasonal wild dog sightings.

Accommodation is in reed chalets with canvas roofs, left open during the day and canvas blinds with screens are lowered for privacy and security at night.  All chalets have paraffin lanterns, flush loos, washbasin, and shower each built around an ancient winter thorn tree, and each with 24-hour cold water.

Hot water is delivered by wheelbarrow on request and into old-fashioned canvas buckets.  Comfy beds and mosquito nets complete the accommodation all with wonderful views.  The Kitchen has a 220v generator for charging batteries.  8 Beds for independent travellers in 4 bush chalets.

Testimonials

The canoe trip was BY FAR the most amazing part of our trip!!!! It exceeded our expectations and we had a wonderful time. This is something that we will definitely remember for the rest of our lives. The scenery was beautiful and we felt that we were able to see a part of the “real Africa. Camping out under the stars—hearing the animals in the distance—was out of this world. We’ve made a pact to return for our 40th birthdays in about 15 years so hopefully we will be able to travel with your company again! Thank you so much for all of your assistance. If you ever need a reference, just let me know
