Accommodation | Zambia | Tongabezi

Tongabezi Lodge, the first river safari lodge on the Zambian side of the Victoria Falls, was established in 1990 is privately owned and run, with the emphasis on exclusivity and romance, enhanced by the warmth and hospitality of the people of Zambia.

Each house and cottage at Tongabezi has its own valet who will look after you throughout your stay to ensure that you make the most of all we have to offer.  With his in-depth knowledge of Tongabezi and the surrounding area, he can become your indispensable source of information.

Five river cottages are situated along the riverbank, each with a large double bed or two singles, mosquito net, en-suite bath shower, and both indoor and outdoor areas for relaxing and enjoying the expansive river views.

Our four luxury open-fronted houses are made and furnished with local materials and uniquely designed to complement and enhance the natural surroundings, whilst creating a feeling of intimacy and privacy perfect for honeymoon and wedding couples

Dominating each house is the huge king size bed, complete with luxurious down pillows and duvet, and a magnificent, airy mosquito net so your sleeping comfort is assured at Tongabezi.

The Honeymoon House is so called because it was our first house, but each of the houses is built with romance and indulgence in mind.  Your private balcony overlooking the river is the perfect setting for a candlelit dinner under the stars, or you can choose to dine with other guests on one of the river decks.

Sindabezi Island Camp is our island paradise located downstream from Tongabezi. Accommodation comprises of 5 chalets all with stunning views of the river. The island is very rustic in style with no electricity, wood fires and hot bucket showers on demand. The unique design of the chalets allows you to encounter up close all the sights and sounds of the river and the creatures that live in and around it, including regular visits from Horace, our resident hippo. At night, you will fall asleep in the glow of a hurricane lamp and be awoken by magnificent sunrises over the flood plains of the river

Livingstone Island is located on the edge of the Falls and Tongabezi run five visits daily to the island. It is also possible to take the island privately and enjoy your wedding day on the edge of the Victoria Falls, one of the most exclusive marriage locations in the world.
