Thorntree River Lodge is situated on the Zambian side of the Zambezi River, within the renowned Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park and just 15kms upstream from the spectacular Victoria Falls. Which is "Home of the Elephants."
With 7 standard rooms and two executive safari suites, Thorntree River Lodge offers its guests a unique and personal African experience. Each accommodation unit has its own en-suite facilities and are all beautifully appointed.
Thorntree River Lodge blends naturally into the riverine vegetation and commands superb views from its main deck and private verandas. Welcoming drinks and excellent cuisine are enjoyed from the centrally situated lounge and dining area. There is also a swimming pool and a thatched lapa in which to simply relax during the heat of the day.
A comfortable pontoon boat takes guests out onto the Zambezi River where they can enjoy and appreciate the unspoiled beauty of this lovely stretch of river. Feel its peace and serenity at Thorntree River Lodge while you enjoy a drink, cast a line or raise your binoculars to the passing array of wildlife and birds. Thorntree offers the unique experience of an elephant back trail on the banks of the Zambezi River. Thorntrees riverside location and its unique position within the National Park allows for a wide variety of activities, including sunset pontoon cruises, game drives, cultural tours, fishing and, of course, visits to Victorian Falls. Adventures lovers will also be able to experience white water rafting. Riverboarding, tandem kayaking and bungi jumping, as well as sight seeing flights over the Falls by helicopter, fixed wing or microflight. As well as Heli flips and Micro lighting, full and half day canoeing and elephant back safaris and Walking with Elephants.
